As polls near, the Congress hit out at AAP and BJP claiming that both the parties turned the world-class infrastructure built by then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit into “garbage”.

Congress leader Pawan Khera criticised ex-Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over corruption and accused AAP, describing it as “Alcohol Affected Party”, in an apparent reference to the excise policy ‘scam’.

In a press conference held at the Delhi Congress office, Khera shared an audio clip where AAP MLA Sharad Chauhan allegedly said that former deputy CM Manish Sisodia told him to make some deal with liquor companies and make money from him for political work.

Chauhan can be heard in the purported clip that if he had gone ahead with the plan he also would have been in jail.

Khera said, “AAP is Alcohol Affected Party. A sitting MLA is exposing a senior Cabinet minister.”

The Congress leader said that it happened in a party which claims to do “clean politics”.

“Delhi does not need a liquor manager to handle the education sector,” Khera said in an apparent reference to Sisodia who was handling the Education and excise departments.

Voting in Delhi was held on February 5 and results will be announced on February 8.
