Two unidentified individuals riding a motorcycle reportedly snatched a bag belonging to a Hungarian national while she was commuting from Humayun’s Tomb to the Hungarian Embassy in Delhi on Sunday. The stolen bag contained a mobile phone and Rs 12,000 in cash. The Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the matter.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary, the incident occurred when the victim was travelling in an autorickshaw along Lodhi Road, en route to the Hungarian Embassy, when two people on a motorcycle swiftly seized her bag. The audacious theft took place in the vicinity of Dyal Singh College at approximately 3 PM. The Hungarian woman reported the incident at Lodhi Colony police station.

“She could not recognise the registration number of the offending vehicle. The police team visited the spot and scanned the CCTV footage,” stated the DCP.

Over a month ago, a school teacher in South Delhi’s Saket suffered grave injuries in a strikingly similar incident. Bike-borne thieves had forcibly pulled her out of a moving autorickshaw and snatched her iPhone.
