Chhattisgarh Election Result 2023: The battle for Chhattisgarh nears completion and it is now time for the ultimate truth. The results for the Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023 are set to be announced tomorrow,i.e., on December 3. The counting of votes will begin at 8:00 am. The ECI will officially release the results on their website. The polling in Chhattisgarh was held in two phases. The initial phase of voting, held on November 7, involved voters casting their ballots for 20 constituencies. The second phase of elections in Chhattisgarh on November 17, witnessed voting for up to 70 Assembly seats.

Chhattisgarh registered an overall voter turnout of 76.31 percent in both phases, slightly lower than the 76.88 percent recorded in the 2018 polls. The initial phase witnessed a turnout of 78 percent, while the voter participation in the concluding phase was reported at 75.88 percent.

In terms of number of seats, the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly comprises 90 seats. In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress secured a majority with 68 seats, while the BJP followed with 15 seats. The Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) secured five seats, and the Bahujan Samaj Party won two. Currently, in the incumbent Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, the Indian National Congress holds 71 seats, while the BJP holds 14.

In 2018, the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections saw the Indian National Congress (INC) emerging victorious, leading to the formation of the state government with Bhupesh Baghel assuming the role of Chief Minister. Fast forward to the 2023 election campaign, the Congress party, in its manifesto, pledged to extend its ongoing welfare initiatives in Chhattisgarh, such as the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel extensively addressed rallies and public gatherings throughout the state, emphasizing the accomplishments of his administration. Concurrently, the BJP conducted its election campaign under the banner “Modi’s Guarantee for Chhattisgarh 2023.” Spearheaded by Union Minister Amit Shah, the BJP committed to creating one lakh jobs, providing free electricity to farmers, enhancing infrastructure, healthcare, and education. During the campaign, Shah also criticized the incumbent government, citing issues of corruption, lawlessness, and alleged negligence toward farmers and tribals.
