The Andhra Pradesh High Court granted former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu regular bail in the skill development case on Monday. Naidu is currently on interim bail which was scheduled to end on November 28.
On October 31, the High Court granted him interim bail for four weeks on medical grounds. The court directed Naidu to undergo medical treatment, including cataract surgery in his right eye, as advised by a team of government and private doctors.

Additionally, he was instructed to surrender by November 28. With the recent grant of regular bail by the High Court, his appearance before the authorities on November 28 is no longer required.
Naidu, former CM, had been lodged in the central jail in Rajamahendravaram over alleged involvement in the skill development scam. Earlier, he had written to the Vijayawada ACB Court special judge requesting enhanced security measures in and around the prison premises.

Andhra Pradesh CID arrested Naidu on September 9, alleging his connection in a scam in the AP Skill Development Corporation during his tenure as the CM from 2014 to 2019.
The probe agency accused the TDP chief of being the “chief architect and principal conspirator” in the ‘scam,’ claiming that around Rs 371 crore of government funds had been funnelled into shell companies during the TDP’s governance in the state. Furthermore, it alleged that Naidu engaged in criminal conspiracy, fraudulent misappropriation, disposal of property under a public servant’s control, cheating, document forgery, and destruction of evidence.
