Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said that he has “accepted” Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s “challenge” to engage in a public debate regarding their respective governance records.

Baghel conveyed his acceptance of Shah’s proposal on X, stating his readiness to debate the work accomplished over the past five years compared to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fifteen-year tenure.

“You (Amit Shah) have not yet mentioned the stage, date and time (of the debate), but the public has already prepared the stage. Please announce the date and time,” CM Bhupesh Baghel tweeted on X.

This marks the second instance in which Baghel has responded to Shah’s challenge. On Sunday, he posted on social media platform X stating, “There should be a debate on your scandal of 15 years and our work of 5 years. Chhattisgarh is not afraid, will wait for your reply.”

The challenge initially arose during Amit Shah’s address at a rally in the Pandaria assembly constituency within Chhattisgarh, where he dared Baghel to engage in a debate over their respective records of the work done.
