DUSU polls tomorrow, tight security in North Campus
Around 500 security personnel will be deployed at Delhi University’s North Campus for the students’ union elections on Friday, officials said. Adequate arrangements have also been made in the South Campus of the university for the election. They said that more than 10 station house officers (SHOs) have been deployed to ensure security at the colleges while 25 police motorcycles are patrolling the area.

Man jumps from Bandra-Worli Sea Link; Navy, Coast Guard join search
A 33-year-old man jumped into the Arabian Sea from Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link in the early hours of Thursday, triggering a search, an official said. The operation to trace him is being carried out by the Mumbai police and fire brigade with the help of the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, the official said. The incident took place around 4 am when Vinay Yadav, a resident of Jogeshwari in the western suburbs, jumped into the sea from the cable-stayed bridge. (PTI)
Bomb threat at Delhi school, turns out to be hoax
The Lal Bahadur Shastri School in RK Puram received an email about a bomb on the premises that later turned out to be a hoax, police said on Thursday. The school authorities received the email on Wednesday. They might have checked it on Thursday and informed the police, they said. Bomb squad personnel combed the premises around 8 am and found nothing suspicious, a senior officer said. The school was scheduled to conduct an exam for 400 students on Thursday. The exam went off smoothly after the bomb squad’s search of the premises, the officer added. (PTI)
