At least three schools in Delhi received a bomb threat earlier today via email, news agency PTI reported. The schools, SKV in Malviya Nagar and Andhra School in Prasad Nagar, alerted the police and emergency authorities promptly. As per the Delhi Fire Services, the threats were received at 7:40 AM and 7:42 AM, respectively.
Additionally, the Delhi Police revealed that more than 50 schools received bomb threats across NCR, including DAV Public School, Faith Academy, Doon Public School, and Sarvodhaya Vidyalaya.
What does the bomb threat email say?
Officials revealed that there is one group linked to such threats and have demanded USD 25,000, along with alleged demands of cryptocurrency after sending the bomb threats to schools. The troublemaker group sent out a bulk email to principals and administration staff claiming that the IT systems had been breached, with a threat to explode within 48 hours.
“We are the Terrorizers 111 group. We have planted explosives inside your building, and others across the city. Devices include high-yield C4 bombs and timed charges placed in classrooms, auditoriums, staff rooms, and school buses, designed to cause maximum casualties. We have breached your IT systems, extracted student and staff data, and compromised all security cameras. We are monitoring your actions in real time. Transfer 2000 USD to Ethereum address within 48 hours, or we will detonate the bombs,” the email read.”
Demanding a ransom, the group warns their target to evacuate all schools and suspend operations to avoid the loss of life. Threatening detonation and release of private information, the email also warned against making any contact to authorities. “Terrorizers 111 Group does not forgive or forget,” the email ends.
Increasing trend of bomb threats
This comes after several bomb threat emails were received on Monday, August 18. The second time in a week, Delhi Public School, Dwarka, Modern Convent, and Shree Ram World School were among the targeted. To ensure safety, the schools were evacuated immediately, and police and bomb disposal teams arrived promptly to conduct a thorough search of the premises.
These schools received a 72-hour window to pay $5000 Crypto from the same group, called Terrorizers 111. They were threatened that the miscreants had full control over the staff database and surveillance cameras.
