Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been admitted in the ICU of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi.
“LK Advani ji, former deputy prime minister of India, has been admitted to the ICU of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals for medical management and investigations,” the hospital said in a statement.
“He is under the care of Dr Vinit Suri and is currently stable,” it added.

Suri, a senior consultant in the neurology department, was hospitalised about two days ago, according to a PTI report.
The hospital has not disclosed any details regarding the reason for his admission. This marks his second visit to the same hospital this year.
In August, he was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo in the national capital for a routine follow-up. Earlier, on July 3, the BJP leader had a brief stay at the same facility. This year, Advani was also taken to AIIMS but was discharged after overnight observation.

Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi, Lal Krishna Advani joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 14. After the Partition in 1947, he and his family migrated to India.
In 1951, Advani became a member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, established by Syama Prasad Mookerjee. He entered the Rajya Sabha in 1970 and was elected party president two years later. During the Emergency in 1975, Advani and his colleague Atal Bihari Vajpayee were arrested.
