The security at railway stations across Rajasthan has been heightened given a recent terror threat related to Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed. This development comes after a letter was received in which a threat was given to detonate explosives at several major railway stations of the state on 30 October. Security has been put on high alert in precaution of possible attacks ahead of Diwali. .

Search operations across the state

Extensive searches are being conducted by the GRP station officer Neha Rajpurohit along with RPF in-charge Subhash Vishnoi and their teams at the Bikaner railway station. As per ANI’s latest report, a dog squad has been deployed to identify any suspicious activity or items. A thorough monitoring is going on trains arriving from Musafirkhana, Bikaner, and all the activities on the several platforms. Passengers have been advised to stay alert.

The in-charge of RPF Police Station, Subhash Chandra Vishnoi has stressed the importance of the passenger’s safety. Vishoni stated, ” We are inspecting the luggage of the passengers at the Bikaner station, special attention is been given to the dustbins, waiting hall, utilizing of medical personnel for assistance.”

He further mentioned that a careful inspection is being carried out on long-distance trains that are heading toward Mangal Gagan. ”Toilets and other areas are also being scrutinized to ensure there are no suspicious objects. Passengers are urged to inform about any unclaimed luggage immediately to the police or railway staff for quick action”. The security checks are currently going on at every station in Bikaner, Vishnoi added. As of now, no further updates have been issued regarding the potential threat.
