As for the elections, it was indeed one of the most competitive battles the ruling and opposition sides ever fought. Interestingly, unemployment, education, development, farmers, women and backward communities remained the top issues for all – making it neck and neck.
The polling was done in two phases. A total of 121 constituencies voted in phase 1 on Nov 6, while the remaining 122 (total seats- 243) voted on Nov 11. The exit polls, most of them, predicted an easy victory for the NDA. However, in the last two polls, the government was formed by the alliance which the exit polls predicted would lose the elections. Will the case be the same this time?
