Bihar Assembly Election 2025: An SUV with five people got stuck in a large waterlogged pothole on a Bihar road. While, as expected, the images and videos did go viral as the pothole was a massive one and the car tilted and fell sideways into it, it was the owner who made the headlines. The woman driver said the incident was nothing but an attempt to “defame the government”, here it means the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government.
Car owner Nitu Singh Choubey said that they approached the official as soon as their SUV fell into the pothole. She said they talked to the DM, the Bihar urban development authority but no one helped. She went on to say that the entire incident seems to be a “conspiracy to defame the government”.

“Everyone has been contacted. We spoke with the DM. This is a conspiracy to defame the government during the election period. This is all BUIDCO’s fault. They created a pothole on the road and left it for 20 days,” Nitu Singh Choubey told ANI.
“It’s the rainy season. 5 people fell into it. If someone had lost their life, then who would take responsibility? There was no barricade. Even after my car fell, another person fell off his bike in the same pothole. Locals say someone or the other falls in this pothole every day…” she added.
‘Who would take responsibility?’ she asks
The woman said there were no barricades or warning to let people know that such a large pothole exists on the road. Even after my car fell, another person fell off his bike in the same crater. Locals say someone or other falls in this pothole every day,” she added.

Mentioning that no one was injured, she said this was all an attempt to paint a negative image of the incumbent government as elections are due in Bihar soon.
Netizens react: ‘Pothole is more dangerous than…’
The internet, however, had fun as users shared their views on the incident. A person said on X that the pothole looks “more dangerous than some roads in horror movies 😬”
“She is car owner? Check properly,” said another questioning her credibility as she did not say anything against the government.
A third user added that the woman is saying the government is not a responsible, but adding that the agency is responsible. “… but not blaming govt this more painful is totally irresponsible no accountability by govt this happen in station area Smart City Patna capital of Bihar just think about others roads in Patna all road is ruined…(sic)” he added.
“Thats not a pothole, thats a trench.. like a gutter…” said another.
