Bihar Election 2025: Prashant Kishor has predicted a crushing defeat for Tejashwi Yadav in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections — suggesting that the Opposition leader will be forced to contest two seats. The Jan Suraaj Party founder came down heavily against the Raghopur MLA ahead of a campaign in the area on Sunday but declined to confirm whether he would be contesting against Yadav.

Prashant Kishor vs Tejashwi Yadav?

“At present, there is just a speculation that Jan Suraaj Party will give a strong candidate in Raghopur, and Tejashwi Yadav is so scared. Let him contest from two seats. His fate in Raghopur will be the same as that of Rahul Gandhi in 2019 — when the Congress leader fought two seats but ended up losing his stronghold of Amethi,” Kishor said.

The JSP is the only party that has released its candidates for the upcoming polls — with 51 names on the first list. No contestants have been named so far from the Raghopur constituency held by Yadav in the current Assembly.

“I am going to Raghopur to get feedback from the people of the constituency, which wants an end to the supremacy of one family. Before Tejashwi Yadav, a second-term MLA, his father Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi had represented that seat. Yet, it is crying for basic amenities. Based on feedback, the most suitable candidate will be decided. I cannot say whether it is going to be me. The decision has to be taken by the party,” Kishor added.

RJD bastion?

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is aiming at a hat-trick from the seat which has, in the past, sent his father Lalu Prasad and mother Rabri Devi to the Vidhan Sabha. Although the Yadav-dominated seat is not seen as much of a challenge for Tejashwi, if Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor indeed jumps into the fray, as he has been claiming for some time, people of the Vaishali district constituency will witness one of the most high-profile contests in recent years.
