The Bihar assembly election 2025 has witnessed 65 per cent of voter turnout in the second and final phase of voting on November 11, making it the highest in 75 years. Amid voters setting a benchmark,  the latest analysis by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) highlights the difference in the wealth of contesting candidates.

According to the analysis, out of 2,600 candidates, around 42 per cent or 1,081 candidates have declared assets of more than Rs 1 crore. This shows an increase from the 2020 assembly elections of 33 per cent of the 3,722 candidates, who fell into the same category.

Ran Kaushal Pratap Singh from the Vikassheel Insaan Party is the richest candidate in the fray, with declared assets exceeding Rs 368 crore.

On the contrary, Sunil Kumar Choudhary of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has declared zero assets. Apart from him, Mojahid Alam is the candidate with the lowest declared assets, worth only Rs 1,000.
