Launching an all-out attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that the country needs to be saved from dictatorship.

Addressing his party workers at the AAP headquarters in Delhi, Kejriwal said, “Our nation is great. It has a history of over 4000 years. There have been innumerable attempts by dictators to rule India, but people of the country have ousted them. Today one dictator is trying to finish parliamentary democracy. I am working with all my might against that dictator. I want the support of 140 crore people. I beg you, save this country, save this country from dictatorship.”

He also said that the BJP wants “one nation, one leader”, adding that if the saffron party comes to power, it will change Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath within two months.

He also said that the prime minister is saying that he is fighting against corruption. “However, he has included some of the country’s most corrupt people in his party. He used to blame a few people saying they were involved in corruption of Rs 70,000 crore, but after a few days he made them deputy CM and ministers.”

The BJP has sent top four AAP – Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh, Saytendar Jain and Manish Sisodia – to jail thinking the party will disintegrate, Kejriwal said.

“However, this (AAP) is not a party, it is a thought. The more they want to finish, the more it will expand. The PM wants to crush the Aam Aadmi Party. Those who go to meet PM Modi, some of them know us also, they tell us that PM Modi asks about the Kejriwal and AAP first,” he added.

He said that all opposition leaders, including his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena (UBT) president and former CM Uddhav Thackeray and RJD leader and former Nihar deputy CM Tejashvi Yadav, will be in jail if the BJP wins this Lok Sabha elections.

The CM also asserted the BJP will not return to power and said the INDIA bloc will form the government on June 4, when counting of votes of the Lok Sabha elections will take place.

“In last 20 hours after release from jail, I talked to poll experts and people and got to know the BJP is not going to form the government. The AAP will be part of the government at the Centre. We will get full statehood for Delhi,” he said.

Kejriwal also charged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is asking for votes for Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

“These people ask INDIA bloc about their face. I ask BJP who will be their PM? Modi ji is turning 75 on September 17 next year. He had made the rule that people aged 75 will be retired. They retired LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan,” said Kejriwal.

“He will retire next year. He is seeking votes for making Amit Shah the prime minister. Will Shah fulfill Modiji’s guarantee?” he asked.

Kejriwal, INDIA bloc has panicked, says BJP

Meanwhile, the BJP countered Kejriwal’s Modi won’t be PM, saying that these are lies and an attempt to confuse people.

BJP national president JP Nadda said in a post on X, “Kejriwal and the entire INDI alliance have panicked after realizing their failure in the elections. Their aim is to mislead and confuse the country,” adding that there is “no such provision regarding age anywhere in the constitution of the Bharatiya Janata Party”.

“The vision of ‘Developed India’ is becoming a reality under the leadership of Modiji and in his next 5 years of tenure, Modiji will take the country to new heights.”

“The opposition should not be happy, it should not have any illusions. Modiji is our leader and will continue to lead us in future too. INDI alliance and the leader who came out of jail on bail also knows that Modi is here to stay,” he added.
