Ballia Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results Highlights: Ballia is well-known for its political history and the participation of former prime minister Chandra Shekhar in JP Andolan. The political battle here was between Neeraj Shekhar (Bharatiya Janata Party) and Sanatan Pandey (Samajwadi Party). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been ruling this constituency since 2014.
However, it all changed yesterday when Pandey beat Shekhar by over 40,000 votes. In Uttar Pradesh, SP won 37 seats, while the BJP won 33.

A case was registered against a Facebook user who allegedly incited violence before the counting of votes began on June 4, the social media cell of the Ballia Police said on Monday. Ahead of the vote counting, Brahmanwadi Chandrashekhar Choubey was inciting people to gather at the Ballia Naveen Sabzi Mandi Sthal with weapons through a post on his Facebook account, officials said.
