Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu allocated portfolios to his newly sworn-in council of ministers on Saturday, with Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein taking charge of Finance and several other key departments.

Chowna Mein assigned to oversee Finance, Planning, Investment, Tax & Excise, State Lotteries, Economics & Statistics, Power, and Non-Conventional Energy Resources, according to an order issued by state Chief Secretary Dharmendra.

Mama Natung was appointed to handle the Home portfolio along with Inter-state Border Affairs, Public Health Engineering & Water Supply, and the Department of Indigenous Affairs.

Chief Minister Khandu retained oversight of departments not assigned to the deputy chief minister and other cabinet ministers.

Biyuram Wahge, BJP state unit president, was given responsibility for Health & Family Welfare and Water Resources.

Nyato Dukam, a new cabinet member, was assigned Commerce and Industries, Labour & Employment, and Information, Public Relations, and Printing departments.

Gabriel D Wangsu, also new to the cabinet, took charge of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology, and Consumer Affairs.

Wangki Lowang, a returning minister, was entrusted with Environment & Forests, Geology, Mining & Minerals, and oversight of the Tirap, Changlang, and Longding departments.

Former speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona was appointed to Education, Rural Works, Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism, and Libraries.

Balo Raja was assigned Urban Affairs, Land Management, and Civil Aviation, while Kento Jini took on Law, Legislative and Justice, Social Justice, Empowerment & Tribal Affairs, and Sports & Youth Affairs.

Ojing Tasing was given Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperation, and Transport departments.

Dasanglu Pul, the lone woman minister, assumed responsibility for Women & Child Development, Cultural Affairs, and Science & Technology departments, as per the order.
