Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election Results 2024 Highlights: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) crossed the halfway mark of 31 in the northeastern state by winning 46 seats and is now all set to form the government for a second consecutive term. Chief Minister Pema Khandu is likely to continue in the CM office for a second term. Counting of votes in Arunachal Pradesh concluded on Sunday afternoon.
The counting started at 6 am across 24 district headquarters. The National People’s Party (NPP) came a distance second with victory on just five seats. The elections for both the assembly and Lok Sabha were conducted simultaneously in Arunachal Pradesh during the first phase on April 19. The state has 60 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats, with the ruling BJP securing victory in 10 assembly seats uncontested.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was in for a massive victory today as it won 46 of 60 seats in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. It had already won 10 seats unopposed. The National People's Party came a distant second with victory on five seats. Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress was only able to secure victory on one seat. The Nationalist Congress Party won three seats, the People's Party of Arunachal won two seats while three Independents emerged victorious, according to ECI data.
The BJP has secured victory on 44 Assembly seats with the counting still underway.
The BJP has so far claimed victory on 42 seats, with the counting still underway for 8 of the 60 seats in the northeastern state. Meanwhile, the NPP is far behind BJP with victory on just 4 seats so far.

The counting of votes is underway in 24 district headquarters amid heavy rainfall across the state. The final results are expected to be out by noon, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pawan Kumar Sain said.
With 10 candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) already elected unopposed, the results of the remaining 50 of the 60 Assembly seats will be declared on Sunday.
The BJP, which won 41 seats in 2019, has fielded candidates in all the 60 seats. The Congress has contested on 34 assembly constituencies.
