As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ayodhya on Saturday, people in the city turned up in huge numbers to shower flower petals to welcome the PM during his 15-km long road show.

Among the residents of Ayodhya, was Iqbal Ansari, a 56-year-old litigant in Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit. His father Hashim Ansari was also a litigant in the case. Iqbal was seen holding red roses to shower on PM Modi.

“The case finished on November 9, 2019. Muslims across the country respected and accepted the verdict. All that is in the past… It’s over now. Today, the Prime Minister visited our town and people of my mohalla were standing to welcome him so I also joined them,” Ansari said, as quoted by The Indian Express.

Soon after the roadshow, PM Modi inaugurated historic Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, which is constructed on the lines of Ram Temple. He also flagged off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains and six new Vande Bharat Trains, some virtually.

After the inauguration programme, on his way back from Ayodhya Dham Railway Station to the Ayodhya airport to address a public meeting, PM Modi paid a surprise visit to the house of a beneficiary of the the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

He visited the house of Meera Manjhi, who according to officials is the 10th crore beneficiary of the Central government scheme. He spent 15 minutes at her house and also drank tea.
