A day after releasing its first list, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) unveiled its final list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Thursday.

AIADMK leader Edappadi Palaniswami, while announcing the list said, “For AIADMK, there is no pressure. When MGR started the party and after MGR demise, how Jayalalitha fought. Our party has faced everything. We will face everything legally.”

As per the AIADMK’s Lok Sabha candidates’ list released today, Prem Kumar will contest from Sriperumbudur, S Pasupathi from Vellore, R Ashokan from Dharmapuri, M Kaliyaperumal from Tiruvannamalai, Kumara Guru from Kallakurichi, P Arunachalam from Tiruppur, D Lokesh Tamil Selvan from Nilgris, and Singai G Ramachandran from Coimbatore.

Furthermore, Karthikeyan is running for the Pollachi seat, with P Karuppaiya contesting from Trichy. Chandra Mohan is contesting from the Perambalur constituency, Babu from Mayiladuthurai, Panaguri A Xavier Dhas from Sivangangai, Sivasami Vedhanmani from Thoothkudi, Mutu Chozhan from Tirunelveli, Pasliyan Nazret from Kanyakumari, and G Tamil Vendhan from Pondicherry.

Additionally, Rani has been nominated for the Vilavancode Assembly by-election.

Notably, there will be direct competition between the ruling DMK and the main opposition AIADMK in over 10 constituencies.

On Wednesday, AIADMK released its first list of candidates. The party has also finalised a seat-sharing agreement for the upcoming polls with the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK). AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami and DMDK General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth signed the agreement in Chennai.

Under the AIADMK alliance, AIADMK will contest 32 seats, while DMDK will compete in 5 seats, SDPI in 1 seat, and Puthiya Tamilagam in 1 seat, from the Tenkasi constituency.

Tamil Nadu will cast its votes on April 19 in a single phase of polling. In the 2019 general elections, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led Secular Progressive Alliance secured a significant victory, winning 38 out of 39 seats.

Polling for Lok Sabha elections 20204 will be conducted in seven phases across the nation from April 19 to June 1, with votes scheduled to be counted on June 4, barring Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim where the results will declared on June 2.
