Ahmednagar Local Body Election Results 2025 LIVE: Elections to Maharashtra’s local bodies were held in two phases, with polling conducted on December 2 and December 20. The results will be announced following the counting of votes. The counting began at 10 am today, December 21.

The first phase covered voting in 264 municipal councils and nagar panchayats, while the second phase involved elections in 24 councils and panchayats, along with 154 wards in 76 other local bodies. In total, votes are being counted for 246 municipal councils and 42 nagar panchayats.
Maharashtra Local Body Election 2025: BJP-Shiv Sena battle it out
The BJP, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and the Shiv Sena, headed by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, often found themselves on opposite sides while campaigning for local body polls.
Mahayuti alliance partners – the BJP and Shiv Sena – have pitted against each other in places like Sindhudurg, Satara, Dharashiv, Palghar and Thane. At the same time, rival NCP factions joined forces in Kolhapur, while parts of the Congress aligned with the BJP elsewhere.
According to the Maharashtra State Election Commission, voters will head to the polls on January 15 to elect representatives in 29 Municipal Corporations, including Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), while results will be determined through counting the next day.
