In the midst of growing tensions between political rivals Bharatiya Janata Party and the Aam Aadmi Party, BJP MP Harsh Vardhan took a strong stance against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following the arrest of AAP MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case.

The Aam Aadmi Party’s office at DDU Marg became a focal point as several party workers gathered to protest against the BJP government. The demonstrators voiced their demand for the release of Singh, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday in connection with a money-laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy.

This set off a political firestorm, with Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal accusing the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of staging Singh’s arrest. The AAP retaliated by announcing plans to stage protests outside the BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

BJP MP Harsh Vardhan responded to the AAP protest and said, “They vowed in the name of Mahatma Gandhi and talked about probity, holiness, and honesty, but over a period of time, if anyone has crushed the morals of politics, exercised corruption, and committed injustice, it’s the Aam Aadmi Party.”

Recalling AAP’s promises, he said, “Remember what promises AAP took in the Ram Lila Maidan? They vowed in the name of children. If Mahatma Gandhi were here today, even he would be embarrassed, as they never stood on his principles of non-violence and truth.”

“I pray for them to get some wisdom before people kick them out of Delhi. They should, I think, quit now and give their resignation,” he added.
