Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor is now cancer-free after undergoing treatment in the US for almost a year. However, the Mulk actor has revealed that he is yet to undergo a bone marrow transplant and won’t be able to return to India at least for another two months. The actor told Deccan Chronicle that, being in remission is a big thing and it’s all because of his family and his fans prayers and duas that have worked. He thanked everyone.
Rishi said that Neetu Kapoor has stood by him like a rock. He added that his illness has brought him closer to his kids, mainly son Ranbir Kapoor. He said that his kids Ranbir and Riddhima have really shouldered his problems. Rishi Kapoor also said it was his wife Neetu Kapoor was the force behind his recovery. Rishi Kapoor said his illness was God’s way to teach him patience. “Getting well is a slow procedure. But it makes you grateful for the gift of life,” he said.
Last year, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor left his fans and film fraternity in shock when he tweeted that he was flying to the US for some medical treatment. Later, when his wife and actress Neetu Kapoor wrote, “Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign ” in her New Year post, rumors of Rishi suffering from cancer spread.

Earlier this week, filmmaker Rahul Rawail had announced on Instagram that his close friend Rishi Kapoor was cancer free. Following the announcement, IE Online got in touch with Rishi’s elder brother Randhir Kapoor who confirmed the news. He said that Rishi Kapoor is cancer free now, but he first has to first complete his treatment before he can return home.

Recently, actor Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor’s son, updated fans about his father’s health. Speaking at an award function, Ranbir Kapoor stated that his father is doing very well and that he will be back very soon. He added that he is missing the movies and working in films. Actor Rishi Kapoor was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s film Mulk.
