Lok Sabha Election: This year’s Lok Sabha election will be known for several novel initiatives on the technology front. This is for the first time, election commission has launched a special mobile application for more than 1,800 special election observers appointed by it.
This new mobile application called ‘Observer App’ can be downloaded from Google Play Store on Android phones. It can be used by all the three categories of observers – general observer, police observer and expenditure observers.
These observers can submit the relevant document and material to election commission directly through the mobile app.
The apex poll panel will also use the Observer App to communicate with the observers. The App will be used for sending important notifications, alerts and urgent messages.
“It will also facilitate observers to get their deployment status, download the ID card and update their profile,” said the election commission.
Election observers will be able to see all the complaints by citizens through cVigil mobile app and take action in real time in their area of jurisdiction.
The Observer Mobile App will also help the election observers in making written submission to the election commission once the matter has been investigated by the concerned flying squads.
