Reliance Jio chairman Akash Ambani on Wednesday said that India’s growing strength across the full technology value chain, from semiconductors to 6G development, reflects the country’s emergence as a global digital powerhouse. Speaking at the sidelines of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Ambani said the event captures the nation’s progress and its determination to stay ahead in the digital era.

From silicon to next-gen connectivity

“Today we witnessed the entire spectrum, from chips to advanced communication solutions, and it reinforces our mission to keep India at the forefront of the global digital revolution,” Ambani said. He added that Jio remains committed to driving innovation that pushes India further along its digital journey.

Ambani added that the IMC exemplifies the country’s progress toward becoming a global innovation hub, driven by the combined efforts of startups, academia, and industry leaders.

Call for sustained, inclusive innovation

Calling the inauguration a strong start for the tech industry, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) director general SP Kochhar said IMC 2025 represents the country’s forward march in innovation and technology. He noted that communication networks now reach the country’s remotest regions, supported by rapid technological upgrades and firm action against spam and scams under government direction.

Kochhar also emphasised the need for a balanced ecosystem where established companies and startups can grow together, ensuring that India’s digital momentum continues on a path of sustained and inclusive innovation.
