The Turkish Hazelnut Exporters Associations, in partnership with the Nuts and Dry Fruits Council of India (NDFCI), officially launched the Turkish Hazelnuts, which are celebrated as the ‘miracle nut,’ with a comprehensive four-year campaign in India. The aim of the launch of the product across India. 

The unveiling took place at the Turkish Embassy, in the presence of Turkish  Ambassador, Fırat Sunel, Hasan Osman Sabır, Chairman of Black Sea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters  Association and Gunjan Jain, President of Nuts and Dry Fruits Council of India (NDFCI), along with other  dignitaries. 

During the launch of Turkish Hazelnut in India, Fırat Sunel, Turkish Ambassador, said, “This initiative highlights the strengthening bilateral relations and  opens exciting opportunities for further collaboration in the food and culinary sectors.” 

Due to its traditional cultivation methods that preserve the nuts’ flavor and nutritional value, Turkey is the world’s leading hazelnut producer, accounting for 65% of global production. Turkish hazelnuts are renowned for their sweet, exotic taste and unique texture. They offer a robust nutritional profile, including energy density, vitamins, dietary fiber, and monounsaturated fats, while being naturally cholesterol-free. 

Hasan Osman Sabır, Chairman of the Black Sea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters Association, emphasized the importance of the Indian market and detailed the strategy to boost the presence of  Turkish Hazelnuts in India, stating, “We are  noticing a significant increase in demand compared to last year, with more people incorporating Turkish  hazelnuts into their confectionery items. We believe that  India will become one of the top consumers in the next 10 years.”  

Expressing his views about the collaboration, Gunjan Jain, President, Nuts and Dry Fruits Council of India  (NDFCI) said, “. The addition of these high-quality nuts will not only diversify the range of nuts  available to consumers but also significantly boost the Indian economy.”  

These nuts are now available across modern retail outlets and e-commerce platforms.
