DuPont Water Solutions (DWS), a global leader in sustainable water refinement, sees significant growth opportunity in India as the company begins scouting for a second manufacturing hub in its China plus one strategy.

Envisioning a future where the world’s 7.8 billion inhabitants have equitable access to safe and clean water, DuPont Water Solutions addresses global water challenges in a responsible and inclusive manner. It offers a multi-tech portfolio that helps customers achieve their goal of reducing energy consumption with high recovery in wastewater treatment.

From launching the first Nanofiltration Membrane Elements for High Productivity Lithium-Brine Purification to introducing the first Ion Exchange Resin for Green Hydrogen Production, DuPont is exploring numerous innovations for water refinement solutions to meet its customer’s needs. Speaking exclusively to Financial Express Online, Tanmeet Gulati Commercial Leader, Pacific.

DuPont Water Solutions highlights how this is the opportunity that the company is banking on, “India has a lot of potential to compete in the global scenario. As a result, many industries will set up facilities and the industry starts off with water and it will be required by these industries. So, water treatment component growth will be there and that’s where we are investing, in people, capabilities, skills. We are already quite localised in terms of our solutions, but we are also seeing how we can localise more with our global expertise to capture this growth and help our customer to solve problems.”

In fact DWS offers a multi-tech portfolio that helps customers achieve their goal of reducing energy consumption with high recovery in wastewater treatment. Javier Suárez, South Asia Technical Service & Development Leader adds that, “it’s not only minimising the waste, but also adding value to the waste. It is a very energy consuming process and one needs to make the volume of final waste as minimum as possible. By creating India as a base, we can leverage that for the rest of the world and that is critical for us.”

DuPont’s expertise and innovation have played a crucial role in advancing the technology behind green hydrogen, bringing us closer to cost-effective, sustainable hydrogen production. Charting estimates for the future Gulati expects, “We want to definitely grow here in India. So probably in five years, we can grow our business three times. Yeah, that’s what our plan is. So that we could capture the growth and we are looking at focusing more on this one application, which will be a critical application for the future for India. So, is this is also one kind of investment to meet many customers who may not be able to reach a day to day process and educate them about our products and how we can solve the awareness aspect.”
