The Center on Tuesday declared the southern segment of Hyderabad’s Regional Ring Road (RRR) as a National Highway. Telangana’s Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, met with Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi, where he presented a request regarding this matter. Following the meeting, the Union Minister promptly instructed officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to draft proposals for declaring the southern portion of the RRR as a national highway, reported PTI.

What about the reallocation cost of shifting utilities?

Regarding the reallocation expenses for utilities such as electricity poles and buildings within the RRR boundaries, Gadkari assured that the central government would cover these costs.

He urged the chief minister to expedite land acquisition and associated procedures for the construction of the RRR.

In addition to discussing the Regional Ring Road issue, CM Revanth Reddy urged Gadkari to authorise the expansion of national highways in Telangana and the elevation of several key state highways to national highway status.

The Chief Minister provided the Union Minister with a list of state roads slated for expansion into national highways, emphasizing their importance and the necessity for their upgrade.
