IRCTC Down: Travellers faced trouble on Saturday while trying to book train tickets on the IRCTC as both the app and website witnessed outage again. Several users faced issue with logging in on the website , while many others reported concern during or after the payment was made. The IRCTC website and app displayed “This site is currently unreachable, please try after some time” message to many.

After Diwali, people from across the country are now travelling to their hometowns in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the Chhath festival. Stations are witnessing huge rush with massive crowd of people turning up to board trains. Despite security arrangements, the number of people are more than enough for the forces to be able to control. Meanwhile, a steep increase has been noticed in the attempts for ticket booking.

Though the Centre has run a number of special trains, getting confirmed reservation in these trains have become a tedious task again after the website went unresponsive for many users.

Something similar was witnessed right before Diwali when the website went down and users struggled while booking tickets, leading to chaos.

What users said

Taking to X, several travellers highlighted how the website is not responding and despite several complaints, the same is not being resolved.

A user tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and other handles to raise his issue. ” @IRCTCofficial,
@irctc_app @AshwiniVaishnaw I am not able to book my ticket without selecting food preference. I don’t want to opt for food then why irctc is forcing me to do so. Earlier there was an option to select “No food”.”
