In light of the ongoing Line Block and Power Block for the elimination of Manned Level Crossing Gate No. 75 between Aralvaymazhi and North Panakudi, as well as the provision of a Sub Way for Bridge No. 303, the Southern Railway has announced modifications to several train services. Short-Termination of Train Services

Several trains will be short-terminated, with partial cancellations on specific routes:

  1. Tambaram – Nagercoil Antyodaya Superfast Express (Train No. 20691): Scheduled to leave Tambaram at 23:00 hrs on October 22, 2024, this train will be short-terminated at Valliyur. The segment between Valliyur and Nagercoil will be partially cancelled.
  2. Tiruchchirappalli – Thiruvananthapuram Central Superfast Express (Train No. 22627): Departing Tiruchchirappalli at 07:20 hrs on October 23, 2024, this service will be short-terminated at Tirunelveli, with cancellations between Tirunelveli and Thiruvananthapuram Central.
  3. Madurai – Punalur Express (Train No. 16729): The train leaving Madurai at 23:25 hrs on October 24, 2024, will be short-terminated at Tirunelveli, with partial cancellations between Tirunelveli and Punalur.
  4. Nilambur Road – Kottayam Express (Train No. 16325): This train, scheduled to leave Nilambur Road at 15:10 hrs on October 18, 2024, will be short-terminated at Ettumanur, with cancellations between Ettumanur and Kottayam.

Changes in Train Origination

In addition to short-term cancellations, some trains will have alterations in their origination points:

  1. Nagercoil – Tambaram Antyodaya Superfast Express (Train No. 20672): Originally departing Nagercoil at 15:50 hrs on October 23, 2024, this train will now originate from Valliyur at 16:24 hrs, with partial cancellations between Nagercoil and Valliyur.
  2. Thiruvananthapuram Central – Tiruchchirappalli Superfast Express (Train No. 22628): This service will now start from Tirunelveli at 14:30 hrs on October 23, 2024, instead of Thiruvananthapuram Central, with cancellations between the two stations.
  3. Kanniyakumari – Rameswaram Superfast Express (Train No. 22622): Departing from Kanniyakumari at 22:15 hrs on October 24, 2024, this train will now start from Valliyur at 23:05 hrs, partially cancelling the route between Kanniyakumari and Valliyur.
  4. Punalur – Madurai Express (Train No. 16730): This train will now originate from Tirunelveli at 04:00 hrs on October 25, 2024, instead of Punalur, with cancellations between the two locations.
  5. Kottayam – Nilambur Road Express (Train No. 16326): Originally scheduled to leave Kottayam at 05:15 hrs on October 20, 2024, this train will now depart from Ettumanur at 05:27 hrs, partially cancelling the route between Kottayam and Ettumanur.
