Southern Railway has announced modifications to train services on December 6, due to a Line Block/Power Block to facilitate essential engineering works in Melpakkam Yard. The changes include partial cancellations, short terminations, and alterations in train origins.

Partial Cancellation and Short Termination of Train Services

  • Train No. 12680 Coimbatore – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Intercity Express, departing Coimbatore at 06:20 hrs, will be short-terminated at Katpadi. Services between Katpadi and Dr. MGR Chennai Central stand cancelled.
  • Train No. 12610 Mysuru – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Express, leaving Mysuru at 05:00 hrs, will be short-terminated at Katpadi, with the Katpadi to Dr. MGR Chennai Central segment cancelled.
  • Train No. 06736 Vellore – Arakkonam MEMU, scheduled to depart Vellore at 10:00 hrs, will be short-terminated at Chitteri. The segment between Chitteri and Arakkonam is cancelled.

  • Train No. 12679 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore Intercity Express, scheduled to leave at 14:35 hrs, will now originate from Katpadi at 16:15 hrs, with services between Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Katpadi cancelled.
  • Train No. 12607 Dr. MGR Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru Lalbagh Superfast Express, scheduled to depart at 15:30 hrs, will originate from Katpadi at 17:30 hrs, cancelling the section between Dr. MGR Chennai Central and Katpadi.
  • Train No. 06735 Arakkonam – Vellore MEMU, scheduled to leave Arakkonam at 14:50 hrs, will now originate from Chitteri at 15:02 hrs, cancelling the Arakkonam to Chitteri segment.
