Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday virtually flagged off the daily Sahibganj-Howrah Intercity Express. This new daily train will cover a distance of 350 kilometres in 7 hours, linking Sahibganj to Howrah.
The fare of the train is placed at a modest price of Rs 125. Easing the lives of the passengers, this train will operate daily between the Sahibganj and Howrah stations. It will make stops at Sakrigali, Tinpahar, Barharwa, Pakaur, Rampur Hat, Bolpur Shantiniketan, Barddhaman, and Bandel.
The train is scheduled to leave Sahibganj at 5:20 am and reach Howrah at 12:15 pm. For the return trip, train number 13427 will depart Howrah at 1:45 pm and arrive back in Sahibganj at 8:35 pm. The train will consist of 9 general coaches and 2 SLR/SLRD coaches.
Besides this, the weekly Anand Vihar – Agartala Tejas Rajdhani Express (20501) will now have a stoppage at Sahibganj station in Jharkhand. The train travels from NCR’s Anand Vihar to Agartala.
Sahibganj will be the first stop for this train within Jharkhand, making it the only station in the state between Bihar and West Bengal where the train halts. This fulfills a long-standing demand of the people of Jharkhand, turning their long-awaited dream into reality.
The train will stop at Sahibganj station at 13:56 pm on 15.10.2024 and depart at 13:58 pm. The return journey of this train (20501) will stop at Sahibganj station at 17:01 pm on 10.10.2024 and depart at 17:03 pm.
