PM Modi in Gaya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bihar’s Gaya today, on August 22. Flagging off projects worth Rs 13,000 crore, he aimed to increase Bihar’s connectivity with metro cities to boost trade, religious pilgrimage, and tourism. Focused on traders, youth, and all the residents of Bihar, these projects offer a major boost to the state’s infrastructure.

Under this flagship infrastructural investment, two trains, the Amrit Bharat Express and the Buddhist Circuit Train have been inaugurated by PM Modi at his rally in Gaya today via video conferencing. He waved the green flag as the flower-clad trains made their headway on their tracks.

Amrit Bharat Express – From Gaya to Delhi

Promoting connectivity and convenience, PM Modi flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express running between Gaya and Delhi with modern comfort, facilities, and safety. The second train, the Buddhist Circuit Train, would connect Vaishali to Koderma, focused on boosting tourism and religious travel along key Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the region.

Amrit Bharat Express is a fast-service passenger train and is set to commence operations on August 28. Key destinations on this route include Anugrah, Dehri, Sasaram, Bhabhua Road, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Tundla, and Ghaziabad.

The train will run with 22 coaches with 8 sleeper class and 11 general class coaches offering travel for thousands of passengers from Magadha and Gaya. This makes it the seventh Amrit Bharat train ahead of upcming Bihar elections. These affordable and designed-for-comfort trains provide high-quality service and follows six Bihar to Delhi trains.

Buddhist Circuit Train

The Buddhist Circuit Train managed by the IRCTC also offers journeys from India to Nepal to boost spiritual tourism. Travellers can easily book it via irctcbuddhisttrain.com with rates ranging from Rs 14,375 to Rs 11,875. These trains feature deluxe coaches for accommodation, multi-cuisine restaurants, a mini library, and even a foot massager on board.

This inauguration comes after the Indian Railways announced 12,000 special routes set to operate during Diwali. This was a flagship move to manage the festive crowd, promote passenger convenience, and boost tourism.
