Central Railway has announced a major upgrade to the Nagpur–Indore Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20912/20911), increasing its capacity significantly in response to rising occupancy on the route. The premium semi-high-speed train will operate with 16 coaches instead of the current 8 starting 24 November 2025, offering greater comfort and reduced waiting-list burden for passengers.
Capacity Doubles to 1,128 Seats
With the revised configuration, the train will now be able to accommodate 1,128 passengers, compared to 530 seats earlier. The upgraded rake will comprise 2 AC Executive Chair Cars and 14 AC Chair Cars, enhancing options for business and leisure travellers alike.
Revised Composition Effective from Both Ends
Central Railway has confirmed that the expanded rake will run from both Nagpur and Indore starting 24.11.2025. Officials added that the decision follows “overwhelming response for the train owing to its superior speed, safety standards and modern travel experience,” and is expected to improve operational efficiency on the busy corridor.
