The Ministry of Railways took to Twitter on Tuesday (August 6) to highlight a significant development in the ongoing construction of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor. The tweet announced the successful deployment of a Span-By-Span launcher in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking a crucial step in the project’s progress.
The advanced launcher has been instrumental in seamlessly placing segments for the Bullet Train viaduct along the rail line. This innovative method ensures precision and efficiency in the construction of the high-speed rail corridor, which aims to connect Mumbai and Ahmedabad with cutting-edge bullet train technology.
“A Span-By-Span launcher paves the way for the #MAHSR corridor along the Rail Line in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, seamlessly launching segments for the #BulletTrain viaduct,” the tweet read.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project is set to revolutionise travel between these major cities, significantly reducing travel time and enhancing connectivity. The corridor is an under-construction high-speed rail line that will link Mumbai, India’s financial hub, with Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat. Upon completion, it will be India’s first high-speed rail line.
The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited, overseeing the project’s construction, has announced that the first phase, spanning Surat to Bilimora, is expected to be completed by August 2026.
