Several trains were delayed by up to six hours on Saturday (January 13) owing to the weather-related conditions in the national capital. Trains were running behind schedule as dense fog conditions continue to prevail in the national capital, resulting in low visibility.
Cold wave condition, dense fog in Delhi
Meanwhile, the Met Office informed that dense to very dense fog is likely in parts of northwest India during the morning hours over the next three to four days. As per the IMD, visibility is categorised as very dense fog when it ranges between zero and 50 meters.
The national capital today experienced harsh cold conditions, with the minimum temperature reaching 3.6 degrees Celsius, marking the season’s lowest point thus far, according to weather department officials. IMD data reveals that Saturday’s minimum temperature was the lowest recorded for this date since 2018. Notably, the city had previously registered a low of 3 degrees Celsius on January 12, 2017.
The IMD’s Saturday forecast includes partly cloudy skies and dense fog in the morning, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to settle around 19 and 5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
