As per the company, the value of significant orders is between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore, large orders are worth Rs 2,500 crore- Rs 5,000 crore, major orders are in the range of Rs 5,000 crore- Rs 7,000 crore, and mega orders are worth above Rs 7,000 crore.
Understanding the project details
The project involves the procurement and delivery of various systems across several domains on a design and build basis including overall system integration.
Importantly, the contract involves track works, substation systems, overhead contact systems, power distribution systems, signaling system & telecommunication systems, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) facility.
It is noteworthy that L&T provides turnkey design-build/ EPC solutions for railway projects with single-point responsibility encompassing design, project planning, engineering, supply, quality control, and execution.
At present, L&T is executing such integrated railway systems projects for Mauritius LRT and Dhaka Metro. Further, several railway projects are envisaged to be developed in the ASEAN region over the next decade.
