Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (September 15) virtually inaugurated various projects worth Rs 660 crore from Ranchi, Jharkhand. This includes the foundation stone laying for the Madhupur bypass line in Deoghar district and the Hazaribag town coaching depot, which Modi highlighted will facilitate the launch of several new trains and services. 

PM Modi also dedicated the doubling of the Kurkura-Kanaroan line, part of the Bondamunda-Ranchi single-line section, and the Rourkela-Gomoh route via Ranchi, Muri, and Chandrapura stations. This initiative aims to enhance both goods and passenger traffic mobility. 

“The work of laying railway lines, doubling of these and developing modern facilities at railway stations are underway at a fast pace in Jharkhand,” Modi said.

Additionally, the prime minister inaugurated four road-under-bridges (RUBs) and emphasised that railway line expansion, doubling, and the development of modern facilities at stations are progressing rapidly in Jharkhand. 

India gets six new Vande Bharat Express trains

Additionally, PM Modi also  inaugurated six new Vande Bharat Express trains, serving the routes from Tatanagar to Patna, Brahmapur to Tatanagar, Rourkela to Howrah, Deoghar to Varanasi, Bhagalpur to Howrah, and Gaya to Howrah. Due to the growing demand for these trains, thanks to their speed and comfort, Indian Railways anticipates expanding their service to additional intercity routes in the near future.

PM Modi’s three-day visit, starting Sunday, will include laying foundation stones and launching projects totaling over Rs 12,460 crore across Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Odisha.
