The Government Railway Police (GRP) reported the recovery of nine iron rods on the Bathinda-Delhi railway track, prompting immediate action over the weekend. Investigating Officer Shavinder Kumar confirmed that a train was halted early Sunday morning after multiple rods were spotted on the tracks around 3 AM.

Upon discovering the rods, railway officials quickly removed them, and an FIR was filed against unknown individuals. “In the morning, the RPF had investigated the matter and recovered the rods, after which the matter was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), and then an FIR was registered,” Kumar stated. He confirmed that a total of nine rods had been retrieved from the site.

Averted Tragedy in Kanpur

In a separate incident on the same day, a significant tragedy was averted in Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, when a 5-litre empty gas cylinder was found on the railway tracks near Prempur station at approximately 5:50 AM. The crew of a goods train reported the cylinder, leading the driver to apply emergency brakes and halt the train just in time.

According to the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Central Railway, The goods train traveling from Kanpur to Prayagraj was stopped after the driver spotted the gas cylinder. Railway inspectors and security teams examined the cylinder and safely removed it from the tracks. It was confirmed to be empty, and an investigation is underway.
