LTIMindtree is betting big on BlueVerse, its AI-native ecosystem designed to accelerate enterprise transformation. It brings together intelligent agents, modular architecture, and built-in trust, providing everything companies need to move from AI concept-to-value, across current systems and at scale. “We see strong investments in AI, with significant traction both in AI-native projects and in infusing AI into existing capabilities,” says Venu Lambu, CEO & MD, LTIMindtree. In this interview with Sudhir Chowdhary, he outlines the key trends and his firm’s strategy for accelerating AI adoption among its clients. Excerpts:
What technology trends do you expect to witness in 2026?
Enterprises will embed AI deeply into workflows, with agentic AI handling complex tasks and localised models addressing privacy and compliance. AI-native platforms will accelerate software development and enable rapid deployment of tailored solutions. Generative AI will become highly specialised, while cybersecurity advances like confidential computing will safeguard sensitive data.
Digital twins, edge AI, and IoT will drive efficiency and sustainability. The workforce will evolve through large-scale upskilling, as AI augments, not replaces jobs. Governance, transparency, and ethics will be critical amid regulatory scrutiny. Strategic partnerships, cloud investments, and AI data centres will fuel secure, scalable adoption. Winners will scale AI with speed, trust, and adaptability, reshaping business models and creating new value.
Have you seen a change in client behaviour towards AI?
The most notable development has been the accelerated transition of AI from experimental phases to widespread implementation. Externally, clients are increasingly engaging with us to achieve well-defined, AI-driven business objectives, prompting more advanced discussions regarding governance, security, measurable outcomes, transformation speed, and scalability. Internally, our teams have rapidly embraced AI-focused methodologies, utilising automation and standardised solutions to enhance productivity. Although pricing strategies and workforce reskilling remain crucial elements of this transformation, it is especially promising to observe a shared conviction in AI’s potential to add value across every role and function.
What does “AI at the core” truly mean for your clients?
To make AI a foundational core element of a solution or offering, allowing it to reimagine workflows, results in faster decisions, reduced friction, and accelerated outcomes across the enterprise. In our recent large deal, we are modernising the ecosystem of a global media and entertainment leader while embedding AI to eliminate repetitive steps and delays. This has translated into faster content production cycles, and innovative personalised customer experiences that generate new revenue opportunities. We closely track the progress using mutually established KPIs, ensuring all advantages are clearly reflected in tangible business results.

India needs millions of digital talent soon. How are you sourcing and retaining AI experts?
LTIMindtree is pioneering a transformative approach to talent by seamlessly integrating human expertise with AI-powered “digital employees.” To date, the company has already deployed approximately 1,500 AI agents across key functions such as finance, infrastructure, and customer service. Each AI agent is designed with a unique digital persona, complete with an employee ID and an AI-generated face, reflecting a new era of digital collaboration.
Central to this strategy is the pairing of every AI agent with a human mentor. These mentors are responsible for the ongoing training, supervision, and performance evaluation of their assigned agents, ensuring a robust and continuous learning cycle. If an AI agent fails to learn or adapt to evolving requirements, it can be retired and replaced with another, more capable agent, maintaining high standards of performance and adaptability.
LTIMindtree’s approach to AI talent extends beyond technology deployment; it emphasizes workforce readiness and collaboration. Nearly 63% of the company’s employees have completed an AI course, with a goal of achieving 100% participation. AI agents are not intended to replace people, but to work alongside them, with humans serving as managers and mentors. This blended workforce model is designed as a blueprint for sustainable, scalable, and future-ready talent development in the AI era.
