The Karnataka government on Thursday cleared the Karnataka Crowd Control (Managing Crowd at Events and Places of Gathering) Bill. The Bill introduces strict measures to prevent mishaps at public gatherings. The legislation comes in the wake of the June 4 stampede at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium that left 11 dead and dozens injured.

The bill mandates prior permission from jurisdictional authorities for organising any event likely to attract mass gatherings. It also proposes stringent punishment for holding unpermitted functions, causing civil disturbance or triggering a “crowd disaster”.

This is a breaking story. More Information will be added soon…
