Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has taken steps to advance the proposed ring metro project in Thane city, as per an official statement from the district administration issued on Saturday.
Eknath Shinde’s Request for Approval
During his visit to Delhi on Friday, Chief Minister Shinde had a crucial meeting with Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, a PTI report said. In this meeting, Shinde formally requested approval for the pending Thane ring metro project.
Details of proposed Thane Ring Metro
The district administration released information regarding the Thane ring metro project, stating that it encompasses a 29-kilometer route. This project has been submitted to the Central government for approval.
The project outline includes 22 stations along the route, with 26 kilometers of the Thane ring metro being elevated, while the remaining 3 kilometers will be constructed underground.
Integration with Railway Station
The release also highlights that one of the underground metro stations will be seamlessly connected to Thane railway station, enhancing connectivity, while the other stations will be linked to the broader metro corridor.
