Good news for Delhiites! Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the much-awaited metro line from Dwarka Sector–21 to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 on Sunday. The stretch is a part of the extension of the Airport Express Line (AEL). With the addition of this new line, the total length of the AEL from New Delhi to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 will become 24.9 kms.

Now, the AEL will have 7 metro stations instead of six. These are – New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aerocity, Airport (T-3), Dwarka Sec-21 and Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25. Of these, New Delhi and Dwarka Sec-21 metro stations have the facilities to interchange with Yellow Line and Blue Line respectively.
Facilities at Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 Metro Station:-
The DMRC‘s Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 Metro Station has a lot of facilities such as Subway connectivity, Parking spaces for vehicles, Ramps, lifts. Tactile pathways, separate toilets with emergency buttons etc.
Subway Connectivity at DMRC’s Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 Metro Station:-
This metro station has three subways – (a) 735 m long Subway connects the station to Yashobhoomi, (b) another connects the entry/exit across Dwarka Expressway and (c) connects the Metro station to the foyer of Future Exhibition halls of the Yashobhoomi complex.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as convention centres, auditoriums, hotels, office spaces and more, the Yashobhoomi centre has been developed as the largest exhibition and convention centre in the country.
Significance of Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 Metro Station:-
The Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 Metro Station will prove to be beneficial for the people living around Sector-25 of Dwarka and the new sectors along the Dwarka Expressway in neighbouring Gurugram. This will reduce the travel time to reach central Delhi from these areas by half an hour. In addition, the metro station will also witness a large number of national and international visitors from the Airport or from the Central part of Delhi and will be a place of large public gatherings.
