The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday (June 29) announced that the Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector-25 metro station reopened its entry and exit gates today, a day after they were closed due to heavy rainfall.
Delhi metro had shut down the entry and exit gates of Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector-25 station on Friday and suspended shuttle services from Aerocity station to Terminal 1 of Delhi airport, citing heavy rain.
In an update early Saturday, the DMRC confirmed the reopening of the Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector-25 metro station for normal operations.
Record rainfall in Delhi
Delhi witnessed the onset of monsoon on Friday, recording 228.1 mm of rainfall, the highest for June since 1936, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Key rainfall figures included 228.1 mm at Safdarjung observatory, 192.8 mm at Lodhi Road, 150.4 mm at Ridge, 106.6 mm at Palam, and 66.3 mm at Ayanagar.
According to IMD, Delhi can expect generally cloudy skies with heavy rain throughout the day. The IMD reported a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature expected to reach around 32 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels are currently at 80 percent.
