Bengaluru Metro passengers encountered hardships on Tuesday (Fenruary 20) morning as the trains on the Purple Line were running at reduced speed due to a technical snag. The disruption was identified in the early morning hours between Baiyappanahalli and Garudacharpalya stations. Passengers reported large crowds at all stations. 

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) issued an update regarding disruption on the Namma Metro Purple Line. It also took to X (formerly Twitter) and said, “The operations team are doing short loop services to reduce the inconveniences of our commuters at large. Seeking kind cooperation.”

“Trains in purple line is running at slow speed between Baiyappanahalli to Garudacharpalya due to a technical snag. They will be disruptions in the train schedules. Teams are working to solve at the earliest. Inconvenience is regretted,” it added.

Technical issue resolved on Namma Metro Purple Line

Later on, BMRCL informed that the services has been resumed as per the schedule on Namma Metro’s Purple line at 9.20 am. However, it may take sometime for the opersation to go back to normal.

“The technical snag on the purple line is set right at 9.20 am and trains are moving at the schedules speeds . It takes some more time to normalise the cascading effects and to run as per schedule. Inconvenience caused is regretted,” it said in a tweet.
