The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) has been instrumental in setting international automotive standards, promoting safety, and fostering the development of cleaner vehicles. Through the World Forum for Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29), UNECE introduced the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a global standard designed to provide a precise assessment of vehicle emissions and fuel consumption. This initiative ensures consistency across markets and enhances the reliability of vehicle performance data.
