Republic Day 2024: Ahead of the January 26 celebrations, Swiggy has announced its food delivery debut in Lakshadweep. According to the official statement by the company, it will start the food delivery services in Lakshadweep’s Agatti city. This marks a beginning of an important chapter in the nationwide expansion of the on-demand convenience platform.
Commenting on this Republic Day launch, Swiggy’s Food Marketplace National Business Head Sidharth Bhakoo said that, “Swiggy has consistently strived to deliver unmatched convenience to its users. This expansion marks a significant milestone for us, as we become the first online food delivery service to make a foray in Lakshadweep. We are excited to partner with local restaurants and support them in expanding their businesses, while also creating income opportunities for the local youth.”
Talking about the future prospects in the island, the Swiggy official further said that “In the future, we look forward to gradually deepening our presence in Lakshadweep, fostering stronger connections with local businesses and enriching the culinary experiences of residents and visitors alike.”
As part of the special launch offer, all first-time Swiggy users in Agatti will get a 50% discount up to Rs 100 on their first orders.
