Johnson Controls has decided to expand the manufacturing facility in Pune and increase floorspace by 50% to further develop indigenous parts and products and be strategically focused in the Indian market.
Company’s Chairman, George Oliver and Asia Pacific President, Anu Rathinde visited the Johnsons Control India, Pune plant. This decision has come considering India’s vibrant economy, skilled workforce and thriving manufacturing sector.
The CEO and President both engaged with senior public and private sector leaders during this visit. They also met key ministers of the Indian government like the Finance Minister, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and other prominent ministers of different sectors.
These meetings were aimed to discuss strategies to explore opportunities to expedite the Indian government’s objective of achieving net zero emissions. Johnson Controls’ Pune plant is the third manufacturing facility in the country, this facility produces air-cooled and water-cooled chillers for multiple applications and services, including data centres.
With integrated building technologies including high-efficient chillers, heat pumps, building management systems, and OpenBlue digital solutions, Johnson Controls aims to reduce energy cost and cut carbon emissions. The company has recently partnered with Mahindra Group to decarbonize buildings with deployment of smart and sustainable buildings across commercial, urban residential, and public sectors.
