Bharat Heavy Electricals has secured an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) order worth Rs 6,650 crore from NTPC for setting up the 1×800 MW Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-II in Sundargarh district, Odisha.

BHEL EPC project details

The EPC package, awarded to BHEL through international competitive bidding, covers design, engineering, supply of equipment, erection and commissioning, and associated civil works. The Notification of Award (NoA) was received on November 6, and the project has a completion timeline of 48 months from the date of execution.,

Both BHEL and NTPC are Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). The project aligns with their ongoing role in advancing India’s thermal power infrastructure.

Share Price

On November 6, the share price of  BHEL was up over 1% while the NTPC share price was trending lower.
