Subrata Roy’s demise has put the focus back on the future of the Sahara Refund Portal. Though there is no official statement on this, industry veterans indicate that there is nothing to worry, at least for investors with valid document and investment evidence.
The Sahara Refund Portal, created by the Ministry of Cooperation under the aegis of Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, continues with its initiative to to address the grievances of genuine members/depositors of Sahara Group of Cooperative Societies for payment of their legitimate deposits.
According to the latest information on the website, the process of disbursement of the refund amount is going on and each applicant is eligible upto Rs. 10,000/- in the first phase. However, in case the depositor’s claim could not be processed because of inadequacies in the documents/ mismatch, they can rectify that through the Portal and re-submit their applications. The facility to re-submit is expected to be enabled shortly.
