Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) was trending across the social media after a man in the US claimed that he was served a deep fried rat in his takeaway. A man named Devorise Dixon in America found rat in his food tray when he ordered ‘finger lickin’ KFC’s chicken wings. He posted pictures on Facebook of his takeout meal after discovering that it was a fried rat with a long tail.

The post has gone viral on Facebook with around 107,000 shares.

In its response, KFC said: “This image is from the US and is unrelated to KFC in India. KFC takes customer claims very seriously, and they are investigating this matter. KFC chicken tenders often vary in size and shape, and there is no evidence to support this claim. We have extended the opportunity to have an independent lab evaluate the product at our own expense, but the customer refuses to provide the product in question.”

In another statement, KFC had this to say: “A customer has made a serious claim against KFC in the US and refuses to cooperate in the investigation.  The images the customer originally posted do not include this second angle because it clearly shows it’s a piece of hand-breaded white meat chicken.  Based on this, and the fact that he refuses to allow anyone to see the product, KFC US is left to believe that he intended to deceive the public with this hoax and are considering all options.”
